RE: Saw an A/C unit mounted sideways this weekend.

Its Not standing on its side...its just rotated 90 degree's. Actually sounds like a good way to free up some much needed space atop a truck camper.

RE: Monster Mash IV, in Paso Robles, on Nov, 7th to 10th, 2008.

Your all so Right...this economy Sucks....Good thing Burnetta has a steady job outside of construction. It hurts to take the Motorhome out unless Im driving 10 miles to the beach. With that being said...Im just combining MM with a few days/week on either side so as to make use of driving just once someplace rather than making two long trips. So maybe a few days in Pismo and few days here or there. OK enough of the sad news....still being at almost 60 rigs is pretty darn good and as Terry said...there's enough newbies to take care of the beer hehe Lol(OK so Ill have beer too....speaking of that, That new Bud light Lime is not bad at all). Anyways I figured since Ive been lurking, I better at least say something while Kathie's gone. Sorry to hear that some cant make the trip but its understandable.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Come on up Tom so that all of us up this way can come by and drink all your beer...hehe lol. The Rincon is certainly nice, when and if you can get a spot. Another alternative is Thornhill-Broom State Park....you also park Parrallel(sp) to the coast albeit your a tad further back with but with nice sand out your door. Everyone have a Safe and Fun Holiday..

RE: How's your digital TV broadcast reception?

This is a timely post....I decided to get the Digital Inverter box for the motorhome just to be able to still use the antenna. While in my driveway, I would normally get only 5-6 channels...after installing the box, I get close to 40 channels and their all crystal clear. IM inpressed.

RE: New Tires for Class A DP

Real quick before you spend your money...A few years back when I bought my used Motorhome, I had to replace the old tires. I looked high and low and checked many prices....the beat deal I got was from the Tire Man in Valencia. 6 Remington steel belted 295 75R 22.5's for just over 1700.00. Granted, there not a Big name brand, but Ive had good service from them for over 4 years and since your in Moorepark it might be worth a call.

RE: HELP!! Wierd Electrical Problem

I find this post of interest too.....I have had a re-occurring problem for over a year. With the Genset running, I cannot turn off the CAT, it keeps purring. I have to shut down the Generator than I can shut down the engine. Interestingly enough, I have had Step problems, alternator problems and some dash gauges acting stargely. This is some good info here.

RE: BEWARE !! CAMPING WORLD ADS

I may be way off base here....but if a popular item is advertised and then a particular CW location doesnt have the advertised item, why in the world would a consumer have to pay shipping charges. If Target runs an Ad on a big screen TV and they dont have it in stock, they will order it for you either from another store, their warehouse or from the manufacturer without you paying any shipping. Since I did have a similiar experience as the OP, I know for sure I wasnt charged shipping on THEIR advertised item!

RE: BEWARE !! CAMPING WORLD ADS

Boy can I identify with what your saying.....I had a similiar experience a few years ago on a complete tow package for my Saturn. Lets think about this for a minute.....Saturns are the Most towed vehicle there is, Camping World is probably the largest retailer of RV accessories there is....yet they always want to work with your money rather than stocking any items in their inventory and better still they want you to pay shipping on an itemm shipped from their own warehouse to one of their retail stores. I didnt stand for it and I did get the sale price advertised but I played Hell in getting it. CW has its place in the RV world without a doubt but they sure try to nickel and dime you to death at every oppurtunity. IMHO

RE: Are two 13.5 roof AC's enough?

Lets see, I have a 37' non slide coach, my first real trip in it years ago was to Pahrump, NV. It was 117 degree's during the day. My original 13.5 dual airs kept the inside below 70. I do have awnings on all windows and the Vogue is well insulated. I have since upgraded to 15k units....I dont see that they do a better job.

RE: Help !!! Going to Yellowstone short notice and alone ...

Id opt to stay in Island Park too. Henry's Lake State Park has water and electric with a dump on site plus if your taking the quad, there is plenty of area to explore. I stayed at Red Rock CG in Island Park, A full hook up campground with reasonal rates. Grizzly is surely nice and close by to the West gate, but IMHO, over priced for what you get. After all, you arent going to be spending much time at the campground. Id love to have two glorious weeks by myself there(wife wouldnt like it too much though)..but heck, you can do what you want, when you want. Have Fun....

RE: How hot does it have to get b4 your aircond's can't keep up?

Every time this subject comes up, there are those that insist that your air conditioners can only cool 20 degree's lower than the outside Temp.....THAT is completely FALSE. In theory, your air conditioning units can cool 20 degrees lower than the ambient temp, that is, 20 degree's lower than the return air going into it. Of course alot comes into play and this is not cut and dry...but to think you can only cool a unit in 110 degree heat down to 90 degree's is untrue. This is a fact, I was in Pahrump NV at 117 degree's....I had two 13.5 airs going in a 37' MH, it was Cold eough inside that I had a sweatshirt on. IMHO

RE: Can I run a rooftop a/c unit thru an invertor?

My only reason to respond to this thread was to diminish the "naysayers" that always see inverter/air conditioner and always see NO as the only answer. It is possible amd it is Done in certain applications. Im sure if one wants to spemd the money to develop such a system...its very doable $$$$$$$$ IMHO...Oh, I wouldnt even consider it!

Hey all Now Vince, I have given some thought to the costume for MM. I was thinking along the lines of a Hula Skirt with at least two coconuts and than we could dress Don up as my pet Monkey..hehe LoL GoodNite

RE: Can I run a rooftop a/c unit thru an invertor?

I could very well be wrong about this, but I believe I have read that on some mid to high line coaches, those that have two 3000+ watt inverters, at least one air is wired to to run as such. Now its a given that on such a coach there is a ample supply of Batteries and a very large alternator....I suppose the reason for such a setup is precisely so you dont have to run the Gen set while running down the road. So, in other words, its possible with the right setup!
